Ancor Heat Shrink Butt Connector — 22–18 AWG, 3-Pack
Splice fine-gauge marine wiring with a fully sealed, corrosion-proof connection using Ancor's heat shrink butt connectors. The VER-81209 3-pack is sized for 22–18 AWG wire — the light-duty gauge range used for instrument wiring, sensor feeds, LED lighting, transducer cables, and low-current accessory circuits — where a clean, waterproof inline splice is essential for long-term reliability.
Key Features
- Ancor Marine-Grade Quality — Manufactured to ABYC E-11 and UL 1426 standards; Ancor is the industry benchmark for marine electrical connectors
- Dual-Wall Adhesive-Lined Heat Shrink — Inner adhesive melts during heating to seal the crimp zone against moisture, salt, and corrosion — critical for instrument and sensor wiring exposed to the marine environment
- 22–18 AWG Fine-Gauge Range — Covers the light-duty gauge range for chartplotter feeds, depth sounder transducers, LED lighting, bilge float switches, and low-current sensor wiring
- Tinned Copper Barrel — Corrosion-resistant tinned copper crimp barrel ensures a low-resistance, gas-tight connection with long-term conductivity in salt and humid environments
- Inline Splice Design — Joins two wire ends end-to-end for clean wire extensions, repairs, and splices without junction boxes or additional hardware
- 3-Pack Convenience — Right-sized for single-circuit repairs or small wiring jobs; keep a pack in your onboard toolkit for quick fixes underway

Ancor Butt Connector Range — Choosing the Right Gauge
- 22–18 AWG — Instruments, sensors, LED lighting, transducers, float switches (this SKU — VER-81209, 3-pack)
- 16–14 AWG — Navigation lights, bilge pumps, VHF feeds, panel accessories (SKU VER-81215, 50-pack)
Always match the connector gauge range to your wire gauge. Using an oversized connector on fine wire produces an unreliable crimp and compromises the waterproof seal.
Installation Notes
Strip both wire ends to the correct length so each conductor fills half the barrel without the conductors touching. Insert one wire from each end and crimp firmly with a ratcheting crimper rated for 22–18 AWG — use the correct die size for fine-gauge wire. Apply heat evenly with a heat gun from the center outward until the sleeve shrinks uniformly and adhesive flows from both ends. Allow to cool before routing or flexing. Do not use an open flame.
A 3-pack of VER-81209 belongs in every onboard toolkit — the right connector for fast, reliable instrument and sensor wiring repairs at sea or at the dock.
