Application Compatibility
G/5 is suited for quick marine, shop, household, and woodworking repairs where a fast-set adhesive is useful. It can be used for small bonding jobs, holding parts in place, light-duty repairs, tooling, and temporary positioning while a slower-cure WEST SYSTEM epoxy bond sets. It is not recommended for long-term bonds that will be exposed to high loads or continuous moisture.
Fitment Notice
This is an adhesive system, not an engine-specific part. Before ordering, confirm the required working time, bond strength, moisture exposure, substrate type, and repair size. For structural, high-load, underwater, or long-term wet-service bonding, choose the appropriate WEST SYSTEM epoxy system for the job instead of relying on a five-minute adhesive.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace old adhesive if the containers are expired, contaminated, crystallized, leaking, improperly stored, or no longer mixing and curing correctly. For best results, use fresh resin and hardener and avoid using partially cured or poorly sealed product on critical repairs.
Installation Notes
Mix resin and hardener thoroughly at a 1:1 ratio by volume before application. Prepare bonding surfaces by cleaning, drying, and sanding where appropriate. Apply the mixed adhesive within the short working window, clamp or hold parts in position, and allow the bond to cure fully before loading. Use suitable gloves, ventilation, and surface protection during mixing and application.

Parts Desk Insight
G/5 is best used when speed matters more than maximum structural strength. It is handy for small repairs and positioning parts, but for heavy-load marine bonding or wet-service repairs, a slower WEST SYSTEM epoxy setup is usually the better long-term choice.
