When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the lifejacket if the vacuum pack is damaged, expired, punctured, opened, water-exposed, or no longer compliant with the vessel's inspection requirements. The lifejacket should also be replaced or serviced if the bladder, inflator, light, reflective tape, seams, oral inflation tube, straps, or activation components are damaged, missing, expired, or no longer serviceable.
Installation Notes
Store the vacuum-packed lifejacket in a dry, accessible location where it can be reached quickly in an emergency. Do not crush, puncture, open, or modify the vacuum pack unless required for inspection, service, or use. Confirm the onboard lifejacket storage location is clearly marked and that crew or passengers understand where the equipment is stored.
