ABA #16 Stainless Steel Hose Clamp — 1-1/16" to 1-1/2" Clamping Range
Secure marine hose connections with confidence using ABA's premium all-stainless steel hose clamp. The #16 size covers a 1-1/16" to 1-1/2" (27–38mm) clamping range — ideal for fuel lines, water hoses, exhaust connections, bilge pump discharge, and through-hull fittings where a corrosion-proof, high-strength clamp is non-negotiable.
Key Features
- All-Stainless Steel Construction — Band, housing, and screw are all manufactured from 316 stainless steel; no exposed carbon steel components that can rust and stain gelcoat or contaminate bilge water
- ABA Swedish Engineering — ABA (Norma Group) is the benchmark for marine hose clamps, trusted by boatbuilders and marine professionals worldwide for critical hose connections
- #16 Size — 1-1/16" to 1-1/2" Range — Fits hoses with an outside diameter between 1-1/16" and 1-1/2" (27–38mm); verify hose OD before ordering
- Smooth Inner Band Edge — Rolled, smooth inner band edge prevents cutting or abrading hose material under clamping pressure, extending hose life
- High Clamping Force — Precision-formed band and housing deliver consistent, even clamping pressure around the full circumference of the hose
- ABYC Compliant — Meets ABYC H-27 requirements for marine hose clamps on fuel, exhaust, and below-waterline connections

- Exhaust: Wet exhaust hose connections at manifold, waterlock, and transom exit
- Cooling system: Raw water intake, heat exchanger, and engine cooling hose connections
- Bilge & plumbing: Bilge pump discharge, livewell, washdown, and sanitation hose connections
- Through-hull fittings: All below-waterline hose connections — double-clamp required per ABYC
Installation Notes
Always use two clamps (double-clamped) on all below-waterline and fuel hose connections per ABYC H-27 and A-21 standards. Position clamps so the band fully covers the hose bead or fitting barb. Tighten to the fitting manufacturer's specification — do not overtighten, which can cut the hose. Inspect clamps annually for corrosion, loosening, or hose deterioration and replace as needed. Never substitute non-marine (zinc-plated) clamps on marine applications — they corrode rapidly in the marine environment.
ABA's all-stainless construction makes the ABA-13638 the right clamp for any marine hose connection where reliability and corrosion resistance are required.
