ABA #40 Stainless Steel Hose Clamp — 2" to 3" Clamping Range
Secure large-diameter marine hose connections with ABA's premium all-stainless steel hose clamp. The #40 size covers a 2" to 3" (51–76mm) clamping range — the right fit for large wet exhaust hose, raw water intake on bigger engines, bilge pump discharge, sanitation hose, and other large-bore plumbing connections where maximum corrosion resistance and clamping strength are required.
Key Features
- All-Stainless Steel Construction — Band, housing, and screw are all 316 stainless steel; no exposed carbon steel components that can rust, stain gelcoat, or contaminate bilge water
- ABA Swedish Engineering — ABA (Norma Group) is the benchmark for marine hose clamps, trusted by boatbuilders and marine professionals worldwide for critical hose connections
- #40 Size — 2" to 3" Range — Fits hoses with an outside diameter between 2" and 3" (51–76mm); verify hose OD before ordering
- Smooth Inner Band Edge — Rolled, smooth inner band prevents cutting or abrading hose material under clamping pressure, extending hose service life
- High Clamping Force — Precision-formed band and housing deliver consistent, even clamping pressure around the full hose circumference — critical on large-bore exhaust and sanitation connections
- ABYC H-27 Compliant — Meets ABYC requirements for marine hose clamps on fuel, exhaust, and below-waterline connections

ABA Hose Clamp Size Guide
- #8 — 5/8" to 1" — Small-bore: fuel vent, livewell, bilge intake (SKU ABA-13624)
- #16 — 1-1/16" to 1-1/2" — Medium-bore: fuel fill, cooling hose, exhaust (SKU ABA-13638)
- #40 — 2" to 3" — Large-bore: wet exhaust, raw water intake, bilge discharge, sanitation (this SKU — ABA-13676)
Always measure your hose outside diameter before selecting a clamp. The clamp range must fully encompass the hose OD with room to tighten.
Installation Notes
Double-clamp all below-waterline and fuel hose connections per ABYC H-27 and A-21 standards. On large exhaust hose connections, position clamps so the band fully covers the hose bead or fitting barb. Tighten to the fitting manufacturer's torque specification — do not overtighten, which can cut or collapse the hose. Re-torque after the first heat cycle on exhaust connections, as hose material may compress slightly. Inspect annually for corrosion, loosening, or hose deterioration. Never substitute zinc-plated (non-marine) clamps in marine applications.
ABA's all-stainless #40 clamp is the right choice for large-bore marine plumbing and exhaust connections where long-term reliability and corrosion resistance are non-negotiable.
