Applications
The Redtree foam roller is the preferred applicator for achieving a smooth, professional finish when rolling antifouling paint on the hull, applying two-part polyurethane topcoats on topsides, rolling epoxy primers and barrier coats, and finishing varnish on brightwork. The 4" size offers excellent control on curved surfaces and smaller areas where a full 9" roller would be unwieldy.
For best results, use the “roll and tip” technique: roll the coating on in thin, even passes, then immediately tip off with a dry foam brush or badger brush to eliminate stipple marks. Replace the roller sleeve when it begins to shed or lose its shape. Do not over-saturate the roller — thin, multiple coats produce a superior finish.
