Per ABYC E-11, green (or green with yellow stripe) is reserved exclusively for DC negative and grounding conductors. Never use green wire for positive DC circuits. Consistent color coding is critical for safe troubleshooting and service aboard.
Installation Notes
Strip insulation with a proper wire stripper — do not nick conductors. Use marine-rated tinned copper lugs crimped with a ratcheting crimper; solder after crimping for maximum reliability. Protect all connections with adhesive-lined heat shrink. Support cable every 18" and route away from fuel lines and heat sources. Torque terminal connections to specification.
