Nylon Ring Terminal — 1/4" Stud, 25-Pack
Keep your marine electrical panel and accessory wiring neat, secure, and compliant with these nylon-insulated ring terminals. Sized for 1/4" studs — the standard fastener size on fuse blocks, circuit breakers, distribution panels, and accessory switches — the 38288 is a reliable, cost-effective termination solution for everyday marine wiring work.
Key Features
- Nylon Insulation — Tough, heat-resistant nylon barrel protects the crimp zone from abrasion, vibration, and incidental moisture contact
- 1/4" Stud Size — Fits the standard 1/4" (#10) studs found on fuse blocks, distribution panels, switches, and most accessory terminals aboard
- Tinned Copper Barrel — Corrosion-resistant tinned copper crimp barrel ensures a low-resistance, durable connection in marine environments
- Closed-Ring Design — Ring cannot slip off the stud even if the nut loosens under vibration — the preferred terminal type for permanent marine installations
- 360° Insulation Grip — Full nylon sleeve grips wire insulation to reduce flex fatigue at the crimp point
- 25-Pack Quantity — Sufficient for panel wiring projects or a well-stocked onboard spares kit

Nylon vs Heat Shrink Ring Terminals
Nylon ring terminals (this SKU) provide solid mechanical protection and are ideal for dry, above-deck, or enclosed panel installations where moisture exposure is minimal. For below-deck, bilge-adjacent, or any wet-environment wiring, upgrade to the adhesive-lined heat shrink version (SKU 46388, 1/4" stud) for a fully sealed, waterproof connection. Both use the same 1/4" stud size — choose based on your installation environment.
Installation Notes
Match the terminal wire gauge range to your conductor before crimping. Strip insulation to the correct length so the bare conductor fills the barrel without extending beyond it. Use a ratcheting crimper for consistent, gas-tight crimps — avoid plier-style crimpers. Support the wire within 6" of the terminal to reduce flex fatigue. Inspect terminals annually for signs of corrosion or loosening and replace as needed.
A reliable staple for any marine electrical toolkit — the 38288 keeps your 1/4" stud connections secure and your wiring looking professional.
