Interlux Brightside Off White is a one-part polyurethane topside marine paint for high-gloss above-waterline finishing on properly prepared boat surfaces. It is designed for fiberglass, wood, steel, aluminum, and epoxy substrates when the correct primer and surface preparation system are used. Brightside combines the gloss and clean finish expected from a polyurethane topside coating with easier brush, roller, or spray application than a two-part paint system.

Intended Use
Brightside Off White is intended for topsides, cabins, decks, trim, and other above-waterline marine surfaces where a hard, glossy, cleanable finish is required. It may be used on properly primed fiberglass, wood, steel, aluminum, and epoxy surfaces.
This is not an antifouling paint and is not intended for continuous underwater immersion, hull bottoms, running gear, outdrives, or surfaces below the waterline.
Surface Compatibility Notice
Confirm the substrate, existing coating, primer system, and thinner before application. Brightside should only be applied over compatible, properly prepared, and properly primed surfaces. For best gloss, colour holdout, and adhesion, use the correct Interlux primer or undercoat system for the surface being painted.
Do not apply Brightside below the true waterline or over incompatible antifouling, uncured coatings, wax, silicone, oil, sanding residue, or poorly bonded old paint.
When This Product Needs Replacement
Recoat Brightside when the existing topside finish is faded, oxidized, chalky, scratched, stained, worn through, or no longer protects the underlying surface. It is also used during cosmetic refinishing, cabin and deck restoration, hull-side repainting, or after repairs where the original topside coating has been sanded or disturbed.
A full repaint may be needed when polishing no longer restores gloss or when the coating shows widespread cracking, peeling, lifting, or poor adhesion.
Application Notes
Prepare the surface carefully before painting. Clean, sand, remove dust, and prime as required for the substrate and existing coating system. For brush or roller work, Interlux Solvent 333 is the typical thinner. For spray application, Interlux Solvent 216 is the typical thinner.
Brightside is known for strong flow and leveling when applied correctly, helping produce a smooth, high-gloss finish by brush or roller. Dry-to-touch time is typically 1 to 3 hours, with a recommended recoat window of approximately 8 to 16 hours depending on temperature, humidity, ventilation, film thickness, and application method.
Always follow the current Interlux label and product data sheet for surface preparation, sanding grit, primer selection, thinner percentage, overcoating window, safety equipment, ventilation, and environmental limits.

Parts Desk Insight
Brightside is a topside paint, not a bottom paint. The key buying check is where the paint will be used: above-waterline areas only. For the best finish, match the paint with the correct Interlux primer and thinner system instead of mixing products from different coating systems.
