- Hydraulic steering compatibility is essential: The EV-100 Power is specifically designed for hydraulic steering systems. Customers with mechanical (cable) steering should look at the EV-100 Wheel or Tiller variants instead.
- Verify helm pump compatibility: The included 0.5L pump is suitable for most single-outboard hydraulic systems, but customers with larger or high-lock-to-lock steering systems should confirm pump displacement compatibility with their helm manufacturer before ordering.
- SeaTalkⁿ integration unlocks full capability: When connected to a Raymarine chartplotter or MFD via SeaTalkⁿ, the EV-100 can follow GPS routes automatically. Without a compatible plotter, it operates in standalone heading-hold mode only.
- Professional installation is strongly recommended: Autopilot systems involve hydraulic lines, electrical integration, and calibration. While DIY installation is possible, a certified marine electronics installer will ensure proper commissioning and warranty coverage.
