The Parker Racor CCV4500-08R Closed Crankcase Ventilation System is a heavy-duty crankcase breather filtration assembly designed to capture oil mist and blow-by vapours before they reach the turbocharger intake system. It separates oil from crankcase gases, helps reduce intake fouling, and supports cleaner engine operation on compatible diesel and gasoline engine applications.

This complete CCV assembly is commonly used on turbocharged engines where controlled crankcase ventilation, oil mist separation, and routed intake return are required.

Key Features

  • Parker Racor closed crankcase ventilation system.
  • Part number: CCV4500-08R.
  • Right-hand inlet configuration.
  • Designed for compatible turbocharged diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Maximum flow reference: up to 10 CFM / 283 LPM.
  • Engine capacity reference: up to 400 HP, depending on application and crankcase flow requirement.
  • Uses high-density Vaporbloc™ depth-loading micro-glass coalescing media.
  • Helps separate oil mist from crankcase blow-by gases.
  • Routes cleaned crankcase air back toward the engine intake system.
  • Helps reduce turbocharger, charge-air cooler, and intake-system oil contamination.
  • Includes internal bypass protection.
  • Pop-up visual restriction indicator helps identify when the element needs service.
  • Designed for use with replacement element CCV55248-08.

Engine Compatibility

Common application context includes compatible crankcase ventilation systems on:

  • Turbocharged diesel engines.
  • Turbocharged gasoline engines where a CCV separator is specified.
  • Marine diesel engine rooms.
  • Commercial vessel auxiliary engines.
  • Industrial engine packages.
  • Generator and workboat engine installations.
  • Applications requiring closed crankcase vapour routing back to the intake system.

Use this CCV system only where the engine crankcase flow, horsepower range, hose routing, port size, mounting location, and drain return setup match the installation requirements.

Fitment Notice

Confirm compatibility by engine model, crankcase blow-by flow, horsepower rating, turbocharger intake layout, hose size, mounting clearance, drain routing, and service access before ordering. CCV systems must be sized correctly. An undersized system can increase crankcase pressure, while incorrect routing can cause oil carryover, restriction, leaks, or poor ventilation performance.

The CCV4500-08R uses a right-hand inlet configuration. Confirm inlet orientation before replacing an existing unit.

When This Product Needs Replacement

Replace or service the CCV system if the housing is damaged, ports are cracked, the drain system is blocked, the restriction indicator remains activated after element replacement, or the assembly shows signs of oil leakage or excessive restriction.

Replace the internal element when the restriction indicator shows service is due, at the recommended service interval, or when crankcase pressure increases, oil carryover rises, intake contamination appears, or the engine service schedule calls for CCV element replacement.

Installation Notes

Mount the CCV assembly securely in a serviceable location with correct hose routing from the crankcase breather to the inlet and from the outlet back to the intake side. Keep hoses away from sharp edges, exhaust heat, belts, and moving components.

Install the drain line and check valve according to the engine layout so separated oil can return properly without allowing reverse flow. Confirm all fittings are tight, the drain path is clear, and the restriction indicator is visible for future service checks.

After installation, run the engine and inspect for leaks, abnormal crankcase pressure, hose collapse, oil carryover, and proper drain operation.

Replacement Parts

  • Parker Racor CCV4500-08R — complete right-hand CCV system assembly
  • Parker Racor CCV55248-08 — replacement high-density filter element
  • 1/4 in. NPT check valve / drain components — verify by installation layout
  • 1-3/16 in.-12 SAE port fittings — verify hose routing and application requirements

Parts Desk Insight

A CCV system protects more than the crankcase. By removing oil mist before it reaches the intake, it helps reduce buildup in turbocharger plumbing, charge-air coolers, intake hoses, and sensors. The key checks are correct sizing, proper drain routing, clean hose runs, and timely element replacement. A plugged CCV element can create crankcase pressure issues, so the restriction indicator should be inspected during routine service.
