When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the fuel filter during scheduled fuel system maintenance, when servicing the FCC canister, after contaminated fuel exposure, after long storage, or when the engine shows signs of fuel restriction such as hard starting, hesitation, rough idle, surging, loss of power, or stalling under load.
Replacement is also recommended any time the FCC canister is opened and the filter or sealing O-rings show swelling, cracking, flattening, fuel hardening, or visible contamination.
Installation Notes
Relieve fuel system pressure before service and work in a well-ventilated area away from sparks, flame, and hot surfaces. Open the FCC system according to the PCM or Crusader service procedure, remove the old filter, and discard the old O-rings.
Clean the sealing surfaces before installation. Install the new filter and supplied O-rings in the correct positions, then reassemble the housing carefully. Prime the fuel system as required, check for leaks, and run the engine while inspecting the FCC area and fuel connections.
