When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the anode kit when the existing anodes are worn, pitted, loose, broken, missing, or reduced to roughly half their original size. Anodes should be inspected regularly, especially in saltwater, marina, or mixed-metal environments where corrosion activity can change quickly.
Installation Notes
Clean the mounting surfaces before installing new anodes so each anode has proper metal-to-metal contact with the drive. Do not paint over anodes, as paint prevents them from working correctly. Inspect the mounting hardware during installation and replace any damaged or corroded fasteners as needed.
