Bearings & Bushings
Bearings & Bushings
Bearings, Bushings, Cutlass Bearings, Carrier Parts & Driveline Support
Shop bearings and bushings for propulsion, sterndrives, transmissions, shafts, engines, trim systems, gearcases, and onboard equipment. Find cutlass bearings, sleeve bushings, gimbal bearings, bearing carriers, needle bearings, roller bearings, thrust bearings, locknuts, bearing seals, and bushing kits by brand, size, part number, and application.
Bearings and bushings are precision parts. Match the part number, shaft size, drive model, transmission model, housing, material, and service location before ordering.
OEM Bearing & Bushing Searches
Start With the Brand, Drive, or Transmission
Many bearings and bushings are specific to an engine, drive, gearcase, transom assembly, transmission, or shaft setup. Use the OEM or equipment brand first when you know it.
Find the Right Part
Search by Part Number, Bearing Type, Bushing Type, Shaft Size, or Drive Model
Use the old part number whenever possible. If not, search by equipment brand plus the part location, such as gimbal bearing, shift shaft bushing, cutlass bearing, bearing carrier, or transmission bearing.
Shop by Product Type
Bearings, Bushings, Carriers, Locknuts, Seals & Kits
Use these paths when the customer knows the part family. Then narrow by brand, application, part number, dimensions, and whether the part belongs to an engine, drive, transmission, shaft, or plumbing system.
Shop by System
Match Bearings and Bushings to the Assembly
A bearing for a sterndrive, shaft log, transmission, pump, or engine is not chosen the same way. Use the system path first, then narrow by brand and measurements.
Fitment
Part Number, Location, and Measurements Come First
Bearings and bushings can be identified by part number, shaft size, outside diameter, width, housing, bore, thread, drive model, transmission model, and installation location. Measure carefully and avoid choosing only by a similar-looking photo.
Inspection
Noise, Play, Heat, Leaks, and Vibration Tell a Story
Unusual noise, shaft play, water intrusion, leaking seals, vibration, metal in oil, stiff steering, or repeated seal failure can point to bearing or bushing wear. Inspect the surrounding parts before replacing only one piece.
Measure Carefully
Confirm bore, outside diameter, width, shaft size, housing fit, thread, and any stamped numbers before ordering.
Know the Assembly
Drive, transmission, shaft, engine, trim, steering, and plumbing bushings all use different selection details.
Find the Cause
Replace worn bearings and bushings, but also check seals, alignment, oil condition, mounts, shafts, carriers, and hardware.

FAQ
Choosing Bearings & Bushings
How do I choose the right bearing or bushing?
Start with the exact part number. If it is missing, identify the brand, assembly, shaft or bore size, outside diameter, width, housing, drive model, transmission model, and service location.
Are cutlass bearings selected by shaft size?
Shaft size is one of the most important details, but cutlass bearings also need the correct outside diameter, length, material, bearing code, and fit for the strut or stern tube.
When should a gimbal bearing be replaced?
Replace it when there is noise, roughness, water intrusion, corrosion, excessive play, seal failure, or during major sterndrive service when inspection shows wear.
Can the Parts Desk help identify a bearing?
Yes. Send the old part number, photos, measurements, engine or drive model, transmission details, and where the bearing or bushing is installed.
Ready to Match the Bearing or Bushing?
Use the old part number first. If it is missing, measure carefully and search by assembly, brand, shaft size, bearing style, bushing style, or service location.
