This shell-and-tube cooler uses raw seawater flow to help reduce both engine oil temperature and transmission fluid temperature through a combined cooler body.

When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the cooler if it is leaking externally, leaking oil or transmission fluid into the raw water circuit, leaking seawater into the oil or transmission fluid, plugged with scale or debris, corroded, cracked, frozen, or no longer able to maintain proper fluid temperature.
Replacement is also recommended after saltwater intrusion, freeze damage, oil contamination, transmission fluid contamination, unexplained overheating, or repeated clogging from raw water debris.
Installation Notes
Close the seacock and drain the raw water circuit before removal. Label the engine oil and transmission fluid lines so they return to the correct ports. Inspect hoses, clamps, fittings, mounting straps, drain plug, and adjacent raw water plumbing during replacement.
Use the correct thread sealant for NPT oil and transmission fittings where specified, and avoid over-tightening fittings into the cooler body. After installation, refill and check fluid levels, open the seacock, run the engine, inspect for leaks, and recheck engine oil and transmission fluid condition after warm-up.
