Function & Importance:
Roller dampers are the flexible elements in CENTA CFR couplings that provide vibration dampening and shock absorption. These cylindrical rubber elements are positioned between the coupling flanges and compress and flex during operation to absorb torsional vibrations from the engine and shock loads from the propeller. High-Resilience (HR) Design:
The HR designation indicates high-resilience rubber compound, which provides superior vibration dampening characteristics, longer service life, and better resistance to heat and fatigue compared to standard rubber elements. When to Replace:
Roller dampers should be inspected regularly and replaced when showing signs of wear, cracking, oil contamination, compression set, or deterioration.
