Best Use Case
Best suited for recreational powerboats and sailboats in the 18–26 ft range anchoring in sand, mud, or gravel bottoms. The 5' length provides enough catenary weight to help keep your anchor lying flat and set properly. Pair with a 5/16" galvanized anchor shackle or a 5/16" stainless anchor shackle at each end, and connect to a 3/8" nylon anchor line for a complete anchoring system.

- The oversized end links on this chain accept most standard anchor shackles — no need to size up your shackle to fit.
- Grade 30 is the appropriate chain grade for recreational anchoring. Grade 43 or 70 is only needed for commercial or heavy-duty applications.
- Vinyl coating adds corrosion protection but will eventually wear at contact points — inspect annually and replace if bare metal is exposed.
- A 5' lead chain is the most common length for recreational use. If you anchor frequently in deeper water or strong current, consider a 10' chain for added holding power.
- This chain is compatible with most windlass chain wildcats rated for 5/16" G30 chain — confirm your windlass spec before use.
