600 Feet of Double Braid Nylon. Classic Navy for a Clean, Professional Look.
The Seachoice 3/8" x 600 Ft. Navy Double Braid Nylon Rope Spool delivers the same premium double braid construction and high-grade nylon performance as the black version — in a classic navy colorway that complements traditional and contemporary vessel aesthetics alike. Navy dock lines are a popular choice for boaters who want their lines to look sharp at the dock without showing every scuff and stain.
Double braid construction — a braided core inside a braided cover — provides superior strength, kink resistance, and shock load absorption compared to twisted rope. High-grade nylon stretches under load to absorb the surge forces that occur when a vessel moves against its dock lines in wake or wind, protecting both the vessel and the dock hardware.
Key Features
- Double Braid Construction — Braided core inside a braided cover for superior strength, flexibility, and kink resistance vs. twisted rope
- High-Grade Nylon — Excellent shock load absorption; stretches under load to protect vessel and dock hardware
- Long-Wearing — Durable construction resists abrasion and maintains strength over extended use
- Kink Resistant — Double braid lay resists kinking and hockling for clean coiling and deployment
- Versatile Application — Suitable for dock lines, anchor lines, mooring lines, and general marine rigging
- 600-Foot Bulk Spool — Cut to any length needed; enough for a full season’s worth of dock lines or a complete anchor rode
- Navy Color — Classic, professional appearance that pairs well with most vessel color schemes and dock hardware

⚓ Parts Desk Insight
- Navy vs. black — same rope, different color: The navy and black versions of this spool are the same construction and material. Color choice is purely aesthetic. Navy tends to show less fading over time in UV-exposed environments compared to black, which can bleach to grey with prolonged sun exposure.
- Nylon for dock lines, polypropylene for tow lines: Nylon’s elasticity makes it the correct choice for dock and mooring lines where shock absorption matters. Polypropylene floats but lacks the stretch needed to protect cleats and dock hardware from surge loads.
- Bulk spool — cut and finish ends properly: This is a 600-foot spool, not pre-cut dock lines. Heat-seal, whip, or splice cut ends to prevent unraveling. Nylon melts cleanly with a lighter or heat gun for a quick, clean field finish.
- 3/8" suits most mid-size vessels: Appropriate for dock lines on vessels in the 25–40 foot range. Step up to 1/2" for larger boats or high-load applications; consider 5/16" or 1/4" for smaller vessels.
