Hustler® 14x13 – 4-Blade Aluminum Propeller
The Hustler® 14x13 4-blade is a high-performance aluminum propeller that combines the acceleration, stern lift, and rough-water stability of a 4-blade swept cleaver design with the higher 13" pitch suited for lighter, faster hulls. It’s the step up from the Hustler® 14x11 4-Blade for applications where the engine has the headroom to pull more pitch while still benefiting from the 4-blade’s superior load handling and handling characteristics.
Engineered for 40–150hp outboards and sterndrives with 4.25" gearcases. Compatible with Evinrude®, Honda®, Johnson®, Mariner®, Mercury®, MerCruiser®, Nissan®, OMC®, Parsun®, Suzuki®, Tohatsu®, and Yamaha®. Requires a 500-series hub installation kit (sold separately).
Key Features
- 4-Blade Swept Cleaver Design: Delivers fast hole shot, strong stern lift, and smooth handling in rough water — while maintaining the top-end speed typically associated with 3-blade props.
- Superior Load Performance: The additional blade keeps the hull riding higher when fully loaded with passengers and gear, reducing speed loss compared to a 3-blade prop under heavy loads.
- Squeeze-Cast Construction: Produces a denser, tighter grain structure than traditional die-cast aluminum — resulting in stiffer blades, less flex under load, and more efficient power transfer to the water.
- Stainless Steel Blade Geometry: Blade profiles are drawn from the same geometry used in stainless steel designs, delivering performance that rivals SS props at an aluminum price point.
- Tuned Exhaust Vents: Optimized exhaust flow improves hole shot and delivers best-in-class reversibility.
- Ultracoat™ Powder-Coated Finish: A five-step powder-coat process provides superior corrosion resistance and a durable, automotive-quality appearance that holds up in saltwater and freshwater environments.

Parts Desk Insights
Best Use Case: The Hustler® 14x13 4-blade is the right recommendation when a customer needs the 4-blade’s hole shot, stern lift, and rough-water handling on a hull that can also pull a higher pitch — think tri-toons, bay boats, and watersports applications where the boat runs moderately loaded and the engine has headroom above the 11" pitch. If the customer is currently on the Hustler® 14x11 4-Blade and over-revving at WOT, the 14x13 is the natural next step. If the engine is struggling to reach WOT RPM with the 14x13, step back down to the 14x11.
4-Blade vs. 3-Blade at 13" Pitch: The 4-blade 14x13 shines when the boat is loaded or when the customer wants better steering feel and stability in chop. The 3-blade 14x13 is faster on a lightly loaded hull in flat water. When a customer is on the fence, ask about their typical load and water conditions. Note that 4-blade props typically load the engine slightly more than a 3-blade at the same pitch — the customer may need to drop 1" of pitch when switching from 3 to 4 blades.
Pitch Selection Tip: As a general rule, every 2" of pitch change shifts WOT RPM by approximately 200–400 RPM. If the engine is over-revving at WOT, move up in pitch; if it can’t reach WOT RPM range, move down.
Aluminum vs. Stainless: For customers who want maximum performance from this gearcase, the Express® Mach4 stainless steel line is the natural upgrade path. The Hustler® 4-blade runs within 0.5–1 mph of the equivalent SS design in most conditions.
Hub Kit Required: This propeller uses the 500-series hub system only. Always confirm the customer’s engine make, model, and year before recommending a hub kit — the 503, 504, 505, 506, and 507 all cover this gearcase range but are engine-specific. Verify against the application chart.
