Ritchie Navigation HF-742 Helmsman Flush-Mount Compass | 3.75" Flat Dial, Black

Ritchie Navigation HF-742 Helmsman Flush-Mount Compass

The Ritchie HF-742 is a precision flush-mount magnetic steering compass from the Helmsman series, featuring a clean 3.75" flat dial with large, easy-to-read numerals. Designed for permanent helm panel installation, it mounts flush for a streamlined look and delivers the fast heading lock-on and stable readings that Ritchie's sapphire jewel movement is known for.

Built-in compensators allow easy deviation adjustment without removing the compass from the panel, and custom-fitted protective covers are available for when the vessel is not in use. Like all Ritchie compasses, the HF-742 is 100% repairable and backed by an exclusive 5-year warranty.

Parts Desk Insights

Best Use Case: The HF-742 is the ideal choice for helm panels where a 3.75" flush-mount footprint fits better than the larger 4.5" Navigator series, or where a clean, uncluttered flat dial is preferred. It's a popular fit on mid-size powerboats, center consoles, and sailboat cockpit panels where space is at a premium. If you need a Combi dial in the same Helmsman flush-mount format, the HF-743 is the direct alternative. For a removable bracket-mount option in the same series, see the HB-741.
