What should I check before buying a chartplotter?

Confirm screen size, dash space, chart region, sonar needs, transducer compatibility, power cable, networking, radar or AIS plans, and mount style.

Why are mounts and cables so important?

Many display problems come from poor mounting, unsupported cable routing, missing adapters, wrong network cables, or weak power connections. Match the mount and cables before installation.

Can one display handle GPS, sonar, radar, and AIS?

Many MFDs can, but compatibility depends on the display model, network type, radar family, AIS connection, transducer support, software, and required accessories.

How do I choose a transducer?
