Fitment Notice
Confirm the actual outside diameter of the hose after it is installed over the barb, fitting, pipe, or tube. The clamp must tighten within its working range of 3" minimum to 5" maximum. Do not size the clamp from hose nominal ID alone, since hose wall thickness and fitting diameter can change the required clamp size.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the clamp if the band is distorted, cracked, stretched, pitted, heavily corroded, or no longer tightens smoothly. The clamp should also be replaced if the worm screw slips, strips, seizes, or shows rust lock that prevents proper tightening. On marine and high-vibration installations, inspect clamps during seasonal service and replace any clamp that shows loss of tension, corrosion at the housing, or visible wear at the band perforations.
Installation Notes
Install the clamp squarely over the hose and position it behind the fitting bead or barb where applicable. Tighten evenly using the 5/16" hex-head or slotted screw without over-tightening, which can cut into the hose or deform the fitting. For large hose connections, inspect the hose end, fitting surface, and any adjacent clamps at the same time. Replace hardened, cracked, swollen, or oil-soaked hose rather than relying on extra clamp tension to stop a leak.
