When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the impeller if the engine is overheating, raw-water flow is weak, the pump has been run dry, vanes are cracked, stiff, permanently bent, missing, or showing wear at the tips. Jabsco impeller guidance commonly recommends replacing flexible impellers at least once per year, or sooner depending on engine duty and pump use.
Installation Notes
Lubricate the new impeller before installation. Greasing the impeller helps it slide into the pump bore and gives added protection during initial priming. After replacing the impeller and gasket, reinstall the end cover securely and confirm raw-water flow immediately after startup. Never run a flexible impeller pump dry, as lack of water can quickly damage the impeller.
