Raymarine A62361 RayNet to RayNet Cable β€” Waterproof | 2 m / 6.5 ft

The Raymarine A62361 is a 2-metre waterproof RayNet female-to-female marine Ethernet cable for connecting two RayNet-equipped Raymarine displays, MFDs, or network accessories. RayNet is Raymarine’s waterproof marine Ethernet connector system β€” it carries the same high-speed data as standard Ethernet but uses a twist-lock, weatherproof connector housing built for the vibration, moisture, and salt exposure of the marine environment.

The 2 m / 6.5 ft length suits mid-distance helm and console routing where the shorter A80161 (400 mm) is too short, but a full 10 m run is not required.

Key Features

  • RayNet female connector on both ends β€” for RayNet-to-RayNet device connections
  • Waterproof, vibration-tolerant twist-lock RayNet connector design
  • Length: 2 m / 6.5 ft
  • Marine-grade shielded cable throughout
  • Pre-fitted connectors β€” no field termination required

Specifications

  • Part Number: A62361
  • Connector Type: RayNet female β€” both ends
  • Length: 2 m / 6.5 ft
  • Construction: Waterproof, marine-grade shielded Ethernet cable
  • Weight: approx. 454 g (1.0 lb)

Compatible Applications

  • Raymarine Axiom, Axiom+, and Axiom 2 Pro MFDs with RayNet networking ports
  • Raymarine Element series chartplotters with RayNet connectivity
  • Raymarine HybridTouch MFDs (e Series, gS Series) with RayNet ports
  • Connecting Raymarine network modules, sonar modules, and accessories via RayNet
  • Helm-to-console and cross-panel RayNet routing where a 2 m run is appropriate
  • Any RayNet-to-RayNet connection between two devices with RayNet female-compatible ports

Understanding RayNet Connector Gender

RayNet connectors come in male and female variants. This cable has RayNet female connectors on both ends β€” it connects to RayNet male ports on devices. Most Raymarine MFD and accessory RayNet ports are male, making female-ended cables the standard choice for device-to-device connections. Verify the port gender on each device before ordering.

Installation Notes

  • Align the RayNet connector with the port and twist to lock β€” do not force or over-tighten
  • Route cable away from sharp edges, pinch points, and high-heat areas
  • Avoid tight bends near the connector ends to maintain waterproof integrity
  • Cap unused RayNet ports with weather caps when not in use
  • Confirm network connection in the device setup menu after installation

Technical FAQ

  • Can I use this cable to connect a RayNet device to a router or PC? No. This cable has RayNet female connectors on both ends and is designed for RayNet-to-RayNet connections only. To connect a RayNet port to a standard RJ45 Ethernet device, use the A62360 RayNet (F) to RJ45 (M) Cable or the A80513 RayNet (M) to RJ45 (M) Adaptor.
  • What is the difference between RayNet male and female connectors? Female RayNet connectors (on this cable) plug into male RayNet ports on devices. Most Raymarine MFD ports are male. If a device has a female RayNet port, use the A80262 Right Angle Adaptor or confirm connector requirements before ordering.
  • What other RayNet cable lengths are available? The RayNet family covers a range of lengths: the A80161 (400 mm) for tight routing between adjacent ports, and the A62362 (10 m) for longer runs between distant helm positions.
  • Will a tight bend at the connector end damage the cable? Yes. Avoid tight bends within 100 mm of the connector ends. If a straight cable exit doesn’t fit your installation, use the A80262 Right Angle Adaptor to redirect the cable without stressing the connector housing.

Parts Desk Insights

Best Use Case: The A62361 at 2 m is the right cable for connecting two Raymarine devices that are close but not adjacent β€” a typical scenario is linking an MFD to a radar or sonar module mounted on the same helm pod but separated by panel thickness and routing distance. It’s also the standard choice for connecting an MFD to a RayNet network switch when the switch is mounted behind the dash within arm’s reach. Measure the actual cable path β€” including any routing around panels or through cable runs β€” before selecting a length.

Common Issues: The most frequent ordering error is connector gender confusion β€” this cable has female connectors on both ends and requires male RayNet ports on both devices. Check your device documentation to confirm port gender before ordering. Buyers also regularly underestimate the cable run when routing behind panels; always measure the routed path, not the straight-line distance between devices. If a straight cable exit is obstructed at the port, the A80262 right angle adaptor provides clearance without stressing the connector or cable jacket.
