Service Interval
Replace the oil filter at every scheduled engine oil change, following the interval in your outboard owner's manual. Regular replacement prevents accumulated contaminants from circulating through bearings and other lubricated engine components.
Installation Notes
Remove the old filter and verify its sealing gasket came away with it. Clean the mounting surface, apply a light coat of clean engine oil to the new gasket, and thread the filter on by hand until snug. Run the engine after installation and inspect around the filter for any seepage.
