This kit is designed for emergency signalling on pleasure craft and non-inspected vessels where approved pyrotechnic distress signals are required or preferred. Each cartridge ejects two red stars into the air for visible emergency signalling during day or night use.

Intended Use
This kit is intended for onboard marine safety equipment, emergency signalling, and distress-alert use on pleasure craft and suitable non-inspected vessel applications. Type B multi-star flares are used to attract attention by firing bright red aerial stars into the sky, making them useful when signalling to nearby vessels, shore observers, or search-and-rescue responders.
Approval & Expiry Notice
Confirm that the flare type, approval marking, expiry date, and quantity meet the requirements for your vessel size and operating area. In Canada, pyrotechnic distress signals required by regulation expire four years after the date of manufacture, not four years after purchase. Transport Canada guidance also notes that flares should be clearly approved, unexpired, accessible, and stored in a cool, dry location.
When This Product Needs Replacement
Replace this kit or its cartridges when the flares expire, have been used, show moisture damage, have damaged packaging, or no longer meet the required onboard safety-equipment standard. The launcher and case should also be inspected regularly for damage, corrosion, or anything that could affect safe operation.
Use & Storage Notes
Read and follow the manufacturer's instructions before use. Store the kit in a dry, accessible location away from heat, fuel, oil, propane, and other flammable materials. Keep the flare kit protected from moisture and make sure all crew know where it is stored. Pyrotechnic flares are hazardous products and expired flares should be disposed of through approved channels according to local requirements.
