The Mercury Marine / Quicksilver 8M0171142 Carrier Assembly is an OEM input-shaft seal carrier assembly used in MerCruiser Bravo sterndrive gearcases. Function
The carrier assembly mounts in the front of the sterndrive upper gear housing where the engine coupler connects to the drive. It holds the input shaft oil seal, preventing water from entering the gearcase and stopping gear oil from leaking out during operation.
