These engines must have a threaded dipstick tube fitting for the pump to attach properly.
For 8 HP and 9.9 HP FourStroke outboards, an additional adapter (Part 828369) is required for installation.
Function
The pump threads onto the dipstick tube and uses a hand-operated suction pump to extract oil directly from the crankcase into a container. This method avoids spills and simplifies oil changes in boats where reaching the oil pan drain plug is difficult.
