The Raymarine Quantum Q24C is an 18" solid-state CHIRP radar that combines the flexibility of Wi-Fi wireless connection with the reliability of a wired data cable — giving you both options for permanent or flexible installation on any vessel. It’s on and scanning in seconds with no warm-up time, and at just 5.6 kg it weighs roughly half of a traditional magnetron radar of equivalent size.
CHIRP pulse compression delivers superior target resolution and an 18" (6 m) minimum detection range — closer than most conventional radars can see, which matters in harbour approaches, anchorages, and tight coastal passages. ATX advanced target separation technology identifies small, weak targets even when they’re positioned close to strong radar returns like headlands, breakwaters, or large vessels — the scenario where conventional radar most often fails to show you what you need to see.
At just 17 watts transmit / 7 watts standby, the Quantum Q24C draws a fraction of the power of a magnetron radar, making it practical for sailboats and smaller powerboats where power budget is a real constraint. The included 10m power cable and 10m data cable give you everything needed for a complete installation.

Best use case: The Q24C is the right choice for cruising sailboats, coastal powerboats, and any vessel where low power consumption and light weight are priorities alongside reliable radar performance. The wired data cable option — the key difference from the Q24W — makes it the preferred choice for permanent helm installations where a wired connection is more reliable than Wi-Fi, particularly on vessels with congested wireless environments or metal superstructures that can interfere with Wi-Fi signal. The 18" minimum range and ATX target separation make it particularly effective in harbour approaches and anchorages where close-range target discrimination matters most. The same bolt pattern as previous-generation radars makes it a clean upgrade for vessels replacing an older magnetron unit.
Heads up: If you only need Wi-Fi connection and want to save on cost, the Q24W is the same 18" CHIRP radar without the wired data cable. If you want Doppler collision avoidance — which highlights vessels moving toward you on the radar display — step up to the Quantum 2. Confirm your MFD runs LightHouse II or newer before ordering. Pairing with the AIS700 transceiver gives you radar and AIS target overlay on the same chart for comprehensive collision avoidance.
