Precision GPS Position for Your Raymarine System β Fast, Accurate, Low Power
The Raymarine Raystar RS150 is a high-performance external GPS/GNSS sensor designed to deliver fast, accurate position data to Raymarine multifunction displays, chartplotters, and AIS transceivers. Where a displayβs internal GPS antenna may be compromised by mounting location, deck obstructions, or interference from other electronics, the RS150 gives you a dedicated, remotely mounted sensor positioned for the best possible sky view β and the position accuracy that follows.
With 72 channels and 10Hz position updates, the RS150 acquires satellites quickly and tracks position changes ten times per second β noticeably more responsive than standard 1Hz GPS sensors for fast-moving vessels or precision navigation. It supports both GPS and GLONASS satellite constellations simultaneously, giving it more satellites to work with and better performance in challenging sky conditions near tall structures, cliffs, or dense rigging.
SBAS (Space-Based Augmentation System) support β including WAAS (North America), EGNOS (Europe), MSAS (Japan), and GAGAN (India) β provides differential GPS correction for sub-metre accuracy where augmentation signals are available. At just 30mA power draw, it runs continuously without meaningfully impacting your battery budget.
Connects via SeaTalk NG or NMEA2000 (using a DeviceNet adapter cable) for seamless integration with Raymarine Axiom, Axiom+, and compatible third-party displays. Designed for low-profile surface mounting or optional pole mounting for maximum flexibility in placement.

Best use case: The RS150 is the right choice in three specific scenarios. First, vessels where the MFD is mounted below deck or in a location with a poor sky view β a nav station, enclosed helm, or flush-mounted display where the internal GPS antenna canβt see enough sky for reliable position. Second, any installation where GPS accuracy and update rate matter β racing sailors, fast powerboats, and anyone using the chartplotter for precision anchoring or tight-quarters navigation will notice the difference between 1Hz and 10Hz position updates. Third, AIS700 installations β the RS150 provides the GPS position feed that the AIS700 transmits to other vessels; a dedicated external sensor ensures the position data is accurate and reliable. The GLONASS dual-constellation support is particularly valuable in high-latitude sailing areas (Pacific Northwest, Alaska, Scandinavia) where GPS satellite geometry can be less favourable.
Heads up: NMEA2000 connection requires a DeviceNet adapter cable β confirm you have the correct adapter for your network before ordering. If you need to extend the cable run from the sensor to the display, the Raymarine A80701 5 m Extension Cable Kit is the correct Raymarine accessory for this purpose.
