Visibility Check

Match the light to vessel size, mounting location, lens color, visibility arc, voltage, pole or base style, wiring, and operating requirements before ordering.

Ask Parts Desk

Navigation light requirements vary by vessel type, length, use, and operating area. Confirm current rules and manufacturer instructions before relying on new or replacement lights.

Find Navigation Lights Faster

Search by Light Location, Color, Voltage, Mount, or Replacement Part

Use the search box for red and green bow lights, stern lights, anchor lights, all-round lights, masthead lights, LED bulbs, lenses, sockets, pole bases, wiring, switches, and replacement hardware.

Running Lights

Bow, Side, Stern, and Masthead Lights for Underway Visibility

Running lights help other boaters understand your direction and position after dark or in reduced visibility. Match red, green, and white lights to the correct location, angle, mounting surface, and vessel layout.

Anchor & All-Round Lights

White Lights, Poles, Bases, and 360-Degree Visibility Parts

Anchor and all-round lights should be mounted where they remain visible and unobstructed. Check pole length, plug style, base shape, lens condition, and wire contact quality before replacing parts.

ARC

Confirm Visibility Arc

Navigation lights are directional. Make sure the light color, housing, and mounting angle match the intended visibility sector.

12V

Match Voltage and Wiring

Use the correct voltage, bulb type, wire size, terminals, fuses, switches, and weather protection for the installation.

CLR

Keep Lenses Clear

Clouded, cracked, faded, or missing lenses can reduce visibility. Replace worn covers, bulbs, bases, and contacts as needed.

Installation Help

Small Lighting Problems Can Become Big Safety Problems

A failed navigation light may be caused by the bulb, LED module, socket, ground, switch, fuse, connector, corroded contact, broken pole, damaged lens, or poor wire path. Check the full circuit before replacing only the visible piece.

Match the mountConfirm screw pattern, pole diameter, plug shape, base angle, lens orientation, and available clearance.
Check the circuitInspect voltage, fuse, switch, ground, wire condition, terminal corrosion, and socket contacts.
Protect the wiringUse marine-grade wire, heat-shrink terminals, drip loops, strain relief, and protected wire paths.
Test before launchCheck navigation, anchor, and stern light operation from the dock before running after dark.

Navigation Lights FAQ

Choosing Boat Navigation Lights

How do I choose the right navigation light?

Start with the vessel type, length, mounting location, required light color, visibility arc, voltage, housing style, and whether you need a full light assembly or a replacement part.

Can I replace old navigation light bulbs with LED bulbs?

Only use LED bulbs that are compatible with the light housing, socket, voltage, lens, and intended use. A bulb swap should not reduce the required visibility pattern.

Why does my anchor light work only sometimes?

Intermittent operation can come from corroded socket contacts, loose pole bases, weak grounds, damaged wiring, bad switches, failing bulbs, or poor plug fit.

Can the Parts Desk help match replacement lenses or poles?

Yes. Send photos, brand markings, measurements, base style, pole diameter, old part numbers, and where the light mounts on the boat.
