Application Compatibility
This kit is intended for inboard marine propeller shaft installations using a compatible 2.00-inch shaft, 1-1/2"-6 propeller-end shaft thread, and matching propeller hub keyway. Fitment Notice
Confirm the shaft diameter, shaft thread, propeller hub bore, keyway width, keyway length, and cotter-pin hole size before ordering. The BUC-PSK200 kit is for applications requiring a 1-1/2"-6 nut thread and 1/2" square key. Do not select propeller shaft hardware by shaft diameter alone, since thread size and keyway dimensions must also match the shaft and propeller hub.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace propeller shaft hardware when the nuts are rounded, cracked, deformed, corroded, cross-threaded, or no longer tighten cleanly. The key should be replaced if it is mushroomed, twisted, worn, loose in the keyway, or shows fretting from propeller hub movement. The cotter pin should always be replaced after removal and should not be reused.
Renewing the nut, jam nut, key, and cotter pin during propeller service helps prevent loose propeller hardware, hub movement, shaft-key damage, vibration, and loss of propeller retention.
Installation Notes
Clean and inspect the shaft taper, threads, keyway, propeller hub bore, and cotter-pin hole before installation. The propeller should seat properly on the shaft taper before final hardware tightening. Do not rely on the nuts to pull an incorrectly fitted propeller onto the taper.
Install the key so it fits cleanly in the shaft and propeller hub keyways without rocking or forcing. Use the correct tightening procedure for the vessel and shaft assembly, then secure the final nut with the supplied stainless cotter pin. If the shaft threads, taper, or keyway show damage, correct the shaft issue before installing new propeller hardware.
