The Mercury Quicksilver 8M0072135 Gear Lube Pump is a genuine OEM hand-operated pump designed to fill lower units and sterndrive gearcases with gear oil directly from a bottle. It threads onto standard gear-lube bottles and connects to the gearcase drain port to allow clean, controlled filling during maintenance.

Typical Maintenance Use
During a gearcase oil change:

Remove the bottom drain screw.

Attach the gear lube pump fitting to the drain hole.

Pump gear oil until it appears at the upper vent hole.

Reinstall the vent screw and then remove the pump.
This ensures the gearcase is completely filled.
Works with almost every Mercury outboard and MerCruiser drive that uses 3/8-16 drain plugs.
