Serial Number Fitment Notice
Confirm fitment by Yamaha model code, production year, serial number, and lower-unit water pump diagram before ordering. Yamaha 225–300 HP gearcases can use different pump stack components depending on model and production range.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace during scheduled water pump service, when cooling-water discharge is weak, after overheating, after a dry-run event, or when the impeller, gasket, O-rings, cartridge insert, or wear surfaces show damage, hardening, grooves, or leakage.
Installation Notes
Inspect the pump housing area, driveshaft surface, water tube connection, pump cover, and lower-unit sealing surfaces during installation. Remove any broken impeller vane pieces from the cooling passages before reassembly. Install the woodruff key correctly and follow Yamaha service-manual procedure for pump stack order and gearcase reinstallation.
