Important Installation Notice
Above-deck and outboard use only. USCG regulations require a flame-resistant metal collection bowl for any fuel/water separator installed below deck. Do not use this clear plastic bowl in a below-deck installation.
When to Replace
- Bowl is cracked, crazed, or discolored and no longer provides a clear view of the fuel and water levels
- Bowl threads are stripped or damaged and the bowl will not seal correctly
- Fuel leakage develops at the bowl sealing surface that cannot be corrected with a new gasket or O-ring
- Bowl is physically damaged from impact or overtightening
Installation Notes
- Relieve fuel system pressure before removing the bowl
- Drain any accumulated water from the old bowl before removal
- Inspect and replace the bowl O-ring or gasket if worn or damaged
- Hand-tighten the bowl against the filter head — do not overtighten, as this can crack the clear bowl
- Prime the fuel system and inspect for leaks before starting the engine
