The Faria Chesapeake Black S/S Digital Depth Sounder (FAR 13795) delivers accurate, reliable depth readings to 199 feet (61 m), displayed simultaneously in feet, meters, and fathoms. It comes with a stainless steel thru-hull transducer on a 26-foot cable — the preferred setup for larger vessels, sailboats, and any application where maximum transducer performance and a permanent installation are the priority.
The Chesapeake Black face with stainless steel bezel is purpose-built for saltwater environments, offering a sharp, professional look that suits dark or mixed-colour dash panels. Backlit for clear visibility at night or in low-light conditions.

The thru-hull transducer is the best-performing option for sailboats, larger powerboats, and any vessel where the boat is kept in the water year-round. Because the transducer face is in direct contact with the water (not transmitting through the hull), you get the strongest, most accurate signal — especially in deeper water or at higher speeds. It does require drilling a hole through the hull and fitting a proper thru-hull fitting, so this is typically a boatyard or experienced DIY install.
