Ideal For
Teak decks, handrails, caprails, cockpit trim, interior joinery, and any marine hardwood surface where a durable, natural-looking matte finish is desired. Particularly suited to vessels where the owner prefers the understated elegance of an oil-style finish over traditional high-gloss varnish, without sacrificing the protection and longevity of a modern coating system.
Application Notes
- New or bare wood: apply AWLWood Primer (J3009) before topcoating for maximum adhesion and grain filling
- Maintenance coats: lightly sand existing AWLWood finish with 220-grit before recoating
- Apply in thin, even coats — 2–3 coats recommended for full protection
- Allow each coat to cure fully before recoating — refer to the AWLWood MA product data sheet for recoat windows at your ambient temperature
- Do not apply in direct sunlight or when surface temperature exceeds 35°C (95°F)
- Clean tools with AWLWood Reducer or compatible solvent immediately after use
