Two-Part Epoxy Barrier Coat for Osmotic Blister Prevention and Repair — Quart Kit, Case of 6.

Interlux Interprotect 2000E is a two-part epoxy barrier coat primer that protects fiberglass hulls from water absorption and osmotic blistering. Formulated with Interlux's proprietary Microplates® technology, the cured film creates an overlapping platelet structure that dramatically reduces water vapor transmission through the hull — providing superior barrier protection compared to conventional epoxy primers.

Interprotect 2000E is also the recommended product for repairing fiberglass hulls that have already experienced osmotic blistering, providing a durable, water-resistant base coat before antifouling paint application. Sold as a case of 6 quart kits, each kit includes the base and curing agent. Long overcoating windows add flexibility for multi-coat application schedules.

Parts Desk Insights

The quart case-of-6 format is the right choice for smaller boats, targeted blister repair areas, or when you want to stock multiple kits for seasonal maintenance without committing to full gallon quantities. Six quarts is roughly equivalent to 1.5 gallons — enough for a thorough 3–5 coat barrier application on a boat up to about 25 feet, or for spot repair work on a larger hull. The quart kit is also more practical for above-waterline applications where you're priming smaller areas like transoms, keels, or repaired sections.

For larger hull applications, see the Interlux Interprotect 2000E Gallon Kit (Case of 2). For zinc-based corrosion protection for underwater running gear, see the Pettit Zinc Coat Barnacle Barrier Spray. Browse our full Paint & Coatings collection.
