Pettit Protect® 47004701CAQ High Build Epoxy Primer (Gray) is a heavy duty, two-component epoxy barrier primer designed to provide maximum resistance to fresh or salt water. It helps reduce water absorption for osmotic blister prevention and repair, and its high-solids formula is built for easier, fewer-coat application while delivering dependable corrosion protection on underwater metals. Like most epoxies, it should be topcoated to eliminate chalking.

Parts Desk Insights
Best Use Case: Use this high-build epoxy primer as a waterproofing barrier coat when you need strong resistance to water intrusion and corrosion, especially for osmotic blister prevention/repair workflows.
Common Issues: Epoxies require proper mixing and recoat timing, and surface prep is critical for adhesion. Because it can chalk if left exposed, plan to topcoat it as directed by the system schedule and application guidance.
