Fitment Notice
Anode fitment should always be confirmed by drive model, anode location, and original part number. Matching the old anode’s shape, hole spacing, and mounting style is important before installation. Do not paint anodes, as paint blocks the metal contact needed for proper sacrificial corrosion protection.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the anode when it is heavily wasted, loose, cracked, missing, painted over, or reduced to roughly half of its original size. Anodes should be inspected regularly during the boating season, especially in marinas, saltwater, brackish water, or areas with stray-current activity.
Installation Notes
Remove the old anode and clean the mounting surface so the new anode makes good metal-to-metal contact. Install using the correct fasteners for the drive, tighten securely, and leave the anode bare. Recheck after launch or during routine service to confirm it is secure and wearing normally.
