This complete magnesium anode kit is designed specifically for Mercruiser Bravo III stern drives from 2004 and newer (including mid-2003 production), used in freshwater environments. It provides full corrosion protection across all anode positions on the updated Bravo III drive, replacing every sacrificial anode in one convenient kit.
All components are cadmium-free and conform to Mil-Spec A-21412(SH). Magnesium anodes are the correct choice for freshwater use — they are more electrochemically active than aluminum or zinc in low-conductivity freshwater, providing effective galvanic protection where other anode materials may be too passive to work properly.

This kit is specifically for the updated Bravo III drive introduced in 2004 — it is not interchangeable with the earlier Bravo III (1989–2003) kit. The key difference is the prop nut anode, which replaced the anode collar used on earlier Bravo III drives. Using the wrong kit will leave one anode position unprotected, so confirming your drive year before ordering is important. Magnesium is the correct anode material for freshwater — it is significantly more active than aluminum or zinc in low-conductivity water, where those materials may not corrode fast enough to provide effective galvanic protection.
