This magnesium anode kit is designed for a wide range of Volvo Penta DPS and SX-A stern drives used in freshwater environments. It provides corrosion protection at the two primary anode positions on the drive, replacing both sacrificial anodes in one convenient kit.
All components are cadmium-free and conform to Mil-Spec A-21412(SH). Magnesium anodes are the correct choice for freshwater use — they are more electrochemically active than aluminum or zinc in low-conductivity freshwater, providing effective galvanic protection where other anode materials may be too passive to work properly.
