The Seachoice Streamlined Shaft Anode is a single-piece sacrificial anode designed to protect propeller shafts from galvanic corrosion in freshwater environments. The streamlined profile reduces drag compared to traditional cylindrical shaft anodes, and the included Allen screw provides a secure, tool-assisted installation directly onto the shaft.
Magnesium is the correct anode material for freshwater use — it is more electrochemically active than aluminum or zinc in low-conductivity freshwater, providing effective galvanic protection where other anode materials may be too passive. This 1¼” model (X5) is the smallest in the range, sized for lighter-duty shafts on smaller inboard and shaft-drive vessels.
