This magnesium anode kit is designed specifically for Yamaha 200–250 hp outboard motors used in freshwater environments. It provides targeted corrosion protection at the two most critical anode positions on the lower unit, replacing both sacrificial anodes in one convenient kit.
All components are cadmium-free and conform to Mil-Spec A-21412(SH). Magnesium anodes are the correct choice for freshwater use — they are more electrochemically active than aluminum or zinc in low-conductivity freshwater, providing effective galvanic protection where other anode materials may be too passive to work properly.
