West System 733W Fiberglass Reinforcing Tape – 6" x 10' (2-Pack)
A versatile 9 oz. woven fiberglass cloth tape engineered for structural reinforcement in marine repair and boatbuilding. Each case includes two rolls of 6" × 10' tape, providing enough material for multiple repair zones or a single large structural application.
When laminated with epoxy resin, this tape adds meaningful tensile strength to bonded joints, helping prevent hairline crack development and improving long-term abrasion resistance at high-stress areas.
Key Features
- 9 oz. woven fiberglass construction for high tensile strength-to-weight ratio
- 6" width is ideal for covering chines, seams, hull-deck joints, and structural corners
- Bonds cleanly with epoxy resin systems for a strong, durable laminate
- Resists hairline cracking at flex points and high-stress structural zones
- Improves abrasion resistance on wear surfaces
- Two 10' rolls per case — enough for multiple repair areas
Common Applications
- Reinforcing hull-deck corners and chine joints
- Tabbing bulkheads and structural frames
- Seam reinforcement on plywood or strip-planked hulls
- Crack repair and structural bridging on fiberglass hulls
Recommended Epoxy Systems
Use with a compatible epoxy resin and hardener for best results:
- West System C105A Epoxy Resin – 946 ml — Standard laminating resin for most marine applications
- West System C205 Hardener – 814 ml — All-season standard cure hardener
- West System C205 Hardener – 208 ml — Compact size for smaller jobs
Parts Desk Insights
Best Use Cases: This tape is the right choice when a repair or build requires structural reinforcement at a joint, corner, or seam — not just cosmetic filling. It's particularly effective for tabbing bulkheads to hull sides, reinforcing chine joints on plywood boats, and bridging stress cracks on fiberglass hulls before fairing. The 6" width is wide enough to provide meaningful load distribution without requiring multiple overlapping passes on most standard joint widths.
Tip: Wet out the tape fully with epoxy before applying to the substrate for best adhesion and to avoid dry spots in the laminate. A second wet coat over the tape after placement ensures full saturation and a smoother surface for fairing.
