Smooth, Torque-Free Steering for Outboard and Sterndrive Boats
The Accutech ZeroTorque® Feedback Rack Steering System solves one of the most common complaints in mechanical steering: the constant pull and kick-back at the wheel caused by rudder torque. The patented ZeroTorque® feedback clutch isolates the helm from propeller and water forces, so the wheel stays where you put it — no fighting the helm in a chop, no torque steer under acceleration, no hand fatigue on longer runs.
This 15 ft. cable package is a complete, ready-to-install system with 3.5 turns lock-to-lock, delivering precise, responsive steering with minimal lost motion. It's an ideal upgrade for center consoles, bay boats, and runabouts in the 16–22 ft. range that don't have hydraulic power assist but still demand confident, comfortable steering.

Parts Desk Insights
The ZeroTorque® clutch is what sets this system apart from a standard rack and pinion setup — it gives you the road-feel of feedback steering (you can sense what the boat is doing) while blocking the torque that would otherwise kick the wheel out of your hands. The 3.5 turn lock-to-lock ratio is a good balance between responsiveness and effort for most outboard applications. Cable length is the key spec to get right: measure the actual cable run from helm to engine, add a bit for routing, and choose the closest length. If 15 ft. isn't the right fit for your installation, this system is also available in 13 ft., 14 ft., 16 ft., 17 ft., and 18 ft. cable lengths.
