The Uflex UP20FM is the entry-level front-mount hydraulic steering helm in the UP series — a direct drop-in replacement for SeaStar® helms at a more accessible price point than the UP25FM or UP28FM. With a compact design, built-in lock valve, integral 1,000 PSI relief valve, and convenient front-of-dash fill, the UP20FM delivers reliable hydraulic steering performance for smaller outboard and sterndrive applications where the higher-output UP25 and UP28 series helms are more than required.
Compatible with Teleflex/SeaStar cylinders, hoses, and oil, the UP20FM integrates cleanly into existing SeaStar-compatible hydraulic steering systems.

It retains the same SeaStar drop-in compatibility and front-of-dash fill convenience as the rest of the UP series, so it’s a straightforward replacement if you’re already running a SeaStar-compatible system on a smaller boat. One important distinction: the UP20FM uses an aluminum shaft rather than the stainless steel shaft found on the UP25FM and UP28FM — in saltwater environments, the aluminum shaft may require more attention to corrosion over time. If you’re replacing a helm and the original was a UP25FM or UP28FM, step up to match the original series rather than down to the UP20FM, as the output difference will result in more turns lock-to-lock.
