The Uflex T83FC ZeroTorque is a rotary tilt steering helm engineered for outboard and moderate-torque applications where standard helms fall short. Its patented ZeroTorque clutch mechanism neutralizes rudder feedback at the wheel, delivering smooth, effort-free steering even under load — a meaningful upgrade over conventional rotary tilt helms in higher-torque setups.
Like the T81FC, the T83FC features a Planetary Gear design with a 48° tilt range across five locking positions, eliminating under-dash movement for a clean, secure helm installation. Designed for use with the Uflex M66 steering cable and the X52 tilt assembly (sold separately).

Best Use Case: The T83FC is the right choice when a customer is running a single outboard or any application with moderate rudder torque where they want tilt helm adjustability without fighting the wheel. The ZeroTorque clutch is the key differentiator over the T81FC — if the customer is on a low-torque application (ski boat, light sterndrive), the T81FC is sufficient and lower cost. Always confirm the customer has the compatible Uflex M66 steering cable and remind them the X52 tilt assembly must be ordered separately. Do not recommend for applications exceeding the helm’s rated horsepower capacity.
