Reliable Remote Switching for Sustained High-Current Loads

The BEP 1002204 is an 85A continuous duty solenoid designed for marine circuits that stay energized for extended periods. It lets a low-amperage switch or relay signal control a high-amperage load — keeping heavy wiring out of your helm panel and reducing wear on your control switches.

With a plated steel case, copper contacts, and UL/CE approval, this solenoid is built to handle the demands of a working marine electrical system day after day.

Parts Desk Insights

Best use case: Bilge pumps, livewell systems, anchor windlasses, and other circuits that need to stay on for minutes at a time. This is the standard continuous duty option at 85A — if your installation is in a particularly wet or spray-exposed location, the BEP 1002205 PVC Coated version offers the same rating with added corrosion protection.

For lower-current continuous applications, the BEP 1002203 Continuous Duty Solenoid (65A) is a cost-effective step down. For short-burst, high-current switching like engine cranking, use the BEP 1002206 Intermittent Duty Solenoid instead. For motor reversing circuits, see the BEP 1002201 Motor Reversing Solenoid (75A).
