Apply antifouling paint, primers, and marine topcoats quickly and evenly with the Artizan 240mm paint roller. The 10mm nap pile is the ideal choice for slightly textured hull surfaces, providing enough pile depth to carry a good volume of paint while delivering a smooth, consistent finish without excessive stippling. A trusted tool in boatyards and DIY marine painting projects worldwide.
Key Features
- Artizan Quality — Artizan is a well-regarded brand of paint rollers widely used in marine and industrial painting applications for consistent, reliable performance

- 10mm Nap Pile — Medium pile depth suited to slightly textured fiberglass and gelcoat hull surfaces; carries sufficient paint volume for good coverage without excessive texture transfer
- Solvent-Resistant Construction — Roller sleeve material is compatible with solvent-based antifouling paints, epoxy primers, and marine topcoats
- Smooth, Even Application — Consistent pile density delivers uniform paint distribution across the roller width, reducing lap marks and uneven coverage
- Replacement Sleeve — Sold as a roller sleeve only; fits standard 240mm roller frames (frame sold separately)

Choosing the Right Nap Depth
- 4–6mm nap — Smooth surfaces (gelcoat, gloss topcoats); minimal texture transfer, fine finish
- 10mm nap (this SKU) — Slightly textured surfaces (fiberglass hulls, primed surfaces); good paint volume, smooth finish suitable for antifouling and primer
- 12–18mm nap — Rough or heavily textured surfaces; maximum paint volume, more pronounced stipple texture
For antifouling paint on a standard fiberglass hull, 10mm nap is the most commonly recommended pile depth — it provides the right balance of coverage and finish quality.
Application Tips
Pre-wet the roller sleeve with the appropriate solvent before loading with paint — this prevents the sleeve from absorbing the first coat of paint unevenly. Load the roller evenly in the tray and apply with overlapping strokes in a W or M pattern, then finish with light vertical strokes to even out the coverage. Work in manageable sections and maintain a wet edge to avoid lap marks. Replace the sleeve when paint application becomes uneven or the pile becomes matted. For antifouling paint, apply in the direction recommended by the paint manufacturer.
The SIM-R-121 is the right roller for any marine painting job where a 240mm, 10mm nap sleeve is specified — reliable, consistent, and purpose-built for marine coatings.
